There are some highly taxing games coming out and I am curious about how i should upgrade my hardware

I have 2 comps

1) a7m266, athlon 1800 xp, 512mb pc2100 RAM

2) a7v333-x athlon 2400 xp, 512mb pc2700 RAM

obviously the #2 has more raw horsepower than the 1st....but both of these boards are agpx4 not x8 should this be a huge concern???

#1 is my main comp and i was thinking of upgrading to 2400 xp on that one as well but can't tell for sure if it is compatible with my board. I could eather upgrade the processor and graphics card on it or simply the graphics card on the other and make that my new main comp...

Does/Is agp 8x going to make a huge difference in my visual quality...do i need to absolutly get a new mobo

and does the higher frequency RAM make a large difference as well in regards to the 2100 and the 2700

kinda curious about this stuff as i want the new games to look great on my machine

You don't say what graphics cards you have in these systems - but either way, I wouldn't worry about the AGP 4x. This really only makes a difference if you are transferring large textures acros the bus, and modern graphics cards have such a large amount of memory that this rarely happens.

I would hazard a guess that the faster memory in comp 2 would improve your gaming, so why not just get a better graphics card for comp 2
