Hey. Could some one help me please!?! i just got a new pc and i installed far cry. loaded it up started playin. works fine. but after about 5 min it crashes. i have gforce 6800gt, gig of ram. 3gb processor, and more than enough space. what's the problem? is it over heating? also, the same thing happens with call of duty. but it takes a bit longer on call of duty. please help

He are are some things you could try. For Far Cry in your video settings make sure that Antialiasing and Anisotropic filtering are set to application controlled. In sound settings select the compatable sound option. Update Far Cry to the latest patch. Get it here» . Also if you havent already update your video card driver» and your sound card drivers. Also here is a link to a tweak guide for Far Cry ». Do you have the latest chipset drivers for your mobo? Is DirectX9b installed? Its not as typical to have trouble with the game with an Nvidia card over an ATI card. Nvidia seems to run Far Cry with less tweaking. I use an ATI 9800 xt pro and I didnt have any trouble with the game at all but a few of my friends who have 9700 cards and below had to go back to the old ATI drivers to get it to work. Hope some of this stuff helps!

Thanks. Downloaded the patch and the drivers but still not working. Directx9b was awas installed b4 the game itself so that shouldn't be a problem. can't find where the filtering is tho. thanks anyway. anymore sugestions?

Hmm farcry is alot more like of a resource hog than call of duty so if it happens in call of duty as well we have to rethink this. I would of said to upsate your drivers 2 but as it diddnt work im a bit stumped of what you should do. Hmmm maby defrag your pc? lol

I've been reading a bit about this and it seems there are a lot of people having this same problem it also seems that everyone is pointing to diabling AGP fast write. AGP fast write allows data to be sent to the video card's memory bypassing system memory which will boost performance by a small percentage but at the expense of stability. Fast write can be disabled in cmos under your VGA Graphics Card system parameters I hear that you can also disable it with the nvidia control panel. Hope it helps

hmmm this is rly puzzling me. call of duty hardly does it anymore. i've given up with far cry lol.

Ya Far Cry is a very buggy game but it is very nice.
