Bit strapped for cash at the mo, so can't do any real changes, but is the following fine to play current games at a decent level?

AMD Athlon XP 3000+
6XX MB RAM
40 GB HD
Broadband [Bulldog]
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 8x AGP

.. or is there anything here that needs a major overhaul?

there are plenty of graphics cards faster than your geforce card, but it should be good enough to play even the newest games. You won't be able to turn up many of the settings past low quality, but you shouldn't expect to with an older video card.

other than that I'd say your system is great.
