NWN Crash

The computer I use to play older games on is an Athlon 1GHZ, with 256mb SDR133 RAM, 128DDR Radeon 7500LE and a 20gb 5,400gb HDD. Its rubbish i know but I still play NWN mostly. And this is the problem...I play through the game for about 30 mins (from the start, as in new game), get through the academy etc etc, and when i walk through the transition from the Temple of Tyr (i think) into the city core, the game freezes at the transition loading screen, and i get an illegal operation error message saying 'ATI2XXDRG.DLL' ( i think thats right) has caused an invalid operation or something, sorry i couldnt be more precise...
I also play BHD, UT2003 and SOFII, all with no problems, and UT2003 is on high settings at 1024x768!!!! i really dunno whats going on with NWN, i updated it to v1.62 (latest) re-d/led the catalyst drivers, re-installed the game etc etc etc, all to no avail. Any advice would be much appreciated...
