Everytime I startup 'Outlook Express 6' on Windows XP Home edition 2002, my America Online Instant Messenger program starts with it and hangs my Outlook for a bit, then I have to shutdown AIM. I'm not an AOL customer, I have a top notch high speed Internet access provider (not that this has anything to do with it, but I hate AOL!) Is there a fix to this, other than uninstalling AIM (not an option).

Is this what you are after...

Select the Tools menu, click Options, Click the General tab, and uncheck "Automaticly log on to Windows Messenger Messenger'

Messengers

That should do it. If not, go to MSCONFIG / Startup and uncheck it there. Better yet locate where its starting from and delete it there. (Registry or Programs/Startup Folder)
