Im after some good quality Software to use with a Scanner

I have got a A3 Scanner, with built in document feeder.
What we want to do is scan multiple pages using the feeder and be able to store the scanned documents just as an image.
Is there some software around that does this and have the functions to store a newly scanned page and insert it into an existing file.

If none of this, something i can use to scan different category files and organise into somekind of system for work.

Also is it possible for it to send scanned files electronically, this isnt a huge necessity yet but its one for the future lol Would like it to scan a document, then send it to another PC at work, where that person can decide where to send it next.

If anyone has any advice, ideas or know of any titles that u think may me some help please let me know. Trying to work towards Paperless Office Scenario, sounds easier if you have the right software lol
