Broadband meter/speed guage

Does anyone know if there's a piece of software that maybe sits on your desktop and monitors your connection speed, but more importantly, measures your usage that maybe helpful for those who have capped monthly broadband usage?

i use one called Down2Home. Its a small free program that i use to try to keep up with my bandwidth consumption. Its nothing super fancy, it doesnt have a great big eye catching GUI, it simply does what it was designed to which is what i like most. Im on satellite with a ridiculous cap that hardly makes it worth having.

You have an option of lite and full versions, im using full. I've never tried the lite version so i couldnt say which is better.
