could it be worn out?...or turned off?....can I manage this problem using Device Manager or Hardware Management?...one of my friends asked me this one...she never used one before....could she be plugging in into the wrong type usb port?

If other USB connectors are working, probably the hardware connection is not good.

If the non working USB connector is the USB connector at the front of your PC case, you may need to check your mainboard connection since there is a bundle of wire running from the case front panel USB connector to the mainboard.

I've had a USB port go funny on me recently. Won't accept my keyboard anymore. np with anything else though.

First I'd say make sure it's the USB port and not what you're plugging in. plug into another usb and see what difference it makes.

if plugging into another port works, then try a different device in the broken port.

If you're still getting nothing then you may be stuck. fixing a usb port, or any hardware on your mobo for that matter, isn't exactly easy.
