Trying to recover deleted files can be a problem because the get overwritten easily.
If you have installed these recovery programs on the same drive that you are trying to recover the files from,
most likely they have already been over written.
You could try taking your HDD to a different computer slave it and try to recover from there.

I cant see how they get lost so quick though because I test them by creating a file,deleting it then looking for it straight away. I guess I must be doing something wrong.
