Hi guys

Im having trouble installing iTunes on my PC. Heres what happened.

I had it installed and running my music from a Seagate external hard drive and the drive stopped working.
i had to discard the external drive and source a new one.

Now, when i try to install itunes again on my C: or even another external drive it fails at the point where it asks for the installation location. It brings up my F: (my old drive) and when i try to change this default location the istallation aborts.

All help greatly appreciated.

sounds like the old registry info is the prob. have you went to add/remove and see about removing the old installation?

Yes i have tried removing it via control panel but i get this error:
"itunesMiniPlayer.Resources is not a valid short file name".

When i click "ok", I get "fatal error during installation" and the uninstallation process aborts.

Use and choose clean your registry, select all that it finds and delete them. Try to install again but if it does the same thing you will have to search for itunes keys and delete them yourself. Make sure you only remove things related to itunes as anything else can cause you to lose your os.

I ran regseeker but it kept crashing. So i manually removed every itunes key from my registry but nothing has changed. I still get the same errors as above.

Ken lets try this,
. Run it, select itunes if its there and remove it. Hopefully this will get any remaining keys causing the problem.
