Postby venney » Wed Jan 19, 2005 9:16 pm

Hello, basically i want to free ram up, ive only had the computer on 10 mins, have msn messenger runing n ie, and my nvidia desktop manager (i downloaded a drvier update n it put it there) which is in my taskbar, i right clicked it and clicked about and it says
total physical memory - 523, 760kb
free physical memory - 246, 396kb

well i dont liek to sound grumpy, but wat the hell!!! ive had the pc on 10 mins n half of the ram is being used!!! Whats going on?
How can i clear this and make it so i have most of my ram free on start up?

You could try disabling programmes from starting up when the pc does if u get me. It should make it start up quicker too. My old pc used to be rly slow when i turned it, but then i stopped a few useless things and it was ok.

Hope it helps. :)

Actually u could try this. go to control pannel/system/advanced/ then click settings under performance and then click advanced. Change the size of the page file althou i'm not too sure of the consequences. i was adviced to do this to get hl2 working, but it didn't have an affect so i changed it back to normal.
