Pictures on DVD

Postby pdeinc » Sun Dec 26, 2004 12:29 am

This may not be the best place to ask this, but I'll give it a try. My home DVD player will play music CDs and is supposed to play either picture CDs or DVDs as well. It's a Sony progressive scan unit. I haven't had any luck on searching for tips and info on the DVD player itself which is why I'm here.

I have CD's that have downloaded picsin jpg format as well as a CD from a photo shop also with jpgs plus what I suppose are desktop apps. Neither will play on the home DVD player.

Is this something that is commonly done or not?

Is there a specific application needed to put the pics on the disc so that the player will disply them?

Try saving the file as a JPEG instead of JPG, I know my DVD player is picky when it comes to displaying pictures. I have to have them in JPEG format. I have an Apex.

I'm beginning to question my own sanity now - I dug the manual out and contrary to my memory, it states it does not play CD-R nor DVD-ROM. that pretty much eliminates what I had thought I understood as it's capability. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
