Best Browser?

Postby Limp » Sun Oct 24, 2004 6:47 pm

Im trying to find a good replacement for IE. So far Ive tryed Opera and Avant. I didnt like opera beacause some of the webpages show up with frames that should be hidden. Avant so far is pretty good but I'm not sure if it takes care of all the security issues that IE has because its a shell for IE. Any suggestions?

Does SP2 fix any of the problems with IE? I'm so used to it its going to be like quitting smoking to use anything else... Should I be that worried about it or is IE ok?

Personaly I use IE,I've never really had a problem that made me make the decision to switch browsers completly.
I do know some people that have switch browsers for instance to and are very happy with it.
Other than adapting to a different interface,I've heard no complaints.
As for "Should I be that worried about it or is IE ok?"
I don't know...they all have pros and cons, you just have to look at what you want and what works for you.

Just my thoughts...

I agree with Cactus, it's all up to the users on which Browser they prefer.

I have recently switched to Mozilla 1.7.3......haven't made it around to getting Firefox yet, my son uses that and likes it very much.

IE will always be the prime target for expolits, but the other Browsers have also had their share of attacks.

Here's an interesting article I think you might enjoy reading

I know I'm gonna catch a little flack for this but... I'm going to stick with IE. I read this article and used the settings from it (kind of a hassle at first ) and I also read the article you posted. Because I'm so used to IE I look at all the others very sckeptically. I've tried opera ( pages were all messed up) and avant ( It locked up like 6 times over a 1 hour period). I havent tried the others.

Hey Geek Girl I found a site that you might like. It makes cool flash Nav bars dropdown bars ect for your page and its free. It even adds the links for ya. Check it out --->

Hey! I found one that I like! Maxthon.... It works great so far. I was getting a little tired of have to tweak my security settings for every site I went to. Looks like this is the one for me! Yay!

I do have another question... How do you get the new browser to take links that you get in outlook ect? It still opens IE.
