Ad-Aware® SE Professional Edition

Postby Nessiah » Sun Sep 12, 2004 4:52 pm

Hey,

Got a question about Ad-Aware® SE Professional Edition. I'm running Windows XP with all updates (except SP2 -too many bugs for my personal liking) including updates for IE. I have the google toolbar installed as well which blocks pop ups (I highly reccomend it), and of course Ad-Aware installed. My question relates to a bittorrent site and downloading from it which Ad-Aware blocks.

Question here (for more indepth on my issue, keep reading): How do I allow a certain website to surpass the Ad-Aware monitoring system at all times without having me manually disable and reenable it?

Normally, when I click on the link to the torrent (must be a left-click, no right click save as) a pop up appears which they call a 'dl winder', after a few secs. the torrent opens up the open save cancel dialog box. Now, however, when I click on the link, the pop up pops up for about 1 sec, and then disappears (usually it sticks around until I close it manuall) and nothing happens further. I know its not the google toolbar b/c I have the popup blocker disabled on this website, and also, it works fine if I disable Ad-Aware; therefore I know it must be Ad-Aware b/c when I do click on the link to d/l the torrent.

Question again: How do I allow a certain website to surpass the Ad-Aware monitoring system at all times without having me manually disable and reenable it?

Thanks,

Ness

Open Ad-Aware SE / Click on the "Gear" Icon.... upper left / Select the "Scanning" Button / Click on: "Select Drives & Folders to Scan" / Navigate to the folder you want to omit and uncheck it.

That didn't help. scanning wasn't the problem. I didn't even consider this (b/c i didn't knwo about the feature) it was teh pop up blocker that ad-aware had built in. I just went into the settings and disabled it. :) Thanks for letting me know where the settings are though.
