Hello. I got a laptop in the other day. it is a toshiba P105 s6104. The screen went dim to the point you could see things on the screen, but it was pitch black. Looks like a typical inverter problem. we ordered a new inverter.... did not fix problem. still dark. ordered another inverter just in case this one happened to be bad. nothing. We then ordered a new lcd. hooked it all together, and STILL the same problem.... no back lights. plz help.

you think the lcd we purchased is not working either... it has the same problem as the lcd before. it may be possible, but i would think very rare. i want to know if anyone thinks there is a problem with the laptop, and if so what....i dont mean to sound rude but your not helping any... of coarse im gunna send the lcd back if i cant get it to work.

sorry if I came across rude, but if something is physically broken its a bit hard to say what it is over the internet.
i wont say any more, but if someone else has any ideas I’m sure they will post.
sorry again.

ok... totally by accident while on the phone with toshiba. the lcd started to work... the toshiba has two hooks on the top of the lcd to latch down the lid. well these hooks were broken off, but these hooks would trigger something in the latch holes to cause the screen to turn off and put the system into standby. well there is something inside shorting that switch and keeping the back lights from turning on. i must have shifted it somehow while looking at it, and i can actually touch the case above the latch holes and the screen will go on and off.....
