Weird problem with sound card

Postby patkim » Sat Jan 05, 2008 8:37 am

I recently installed a basic PCI sound card (based on Yamaha 740 chip), as the Line Out from the on board sound eventually gave up.

Every time there’s a Hard disk activity (HDD LED glows) the sound card gives a hissing sound from Left Speaker.
I am puzzled! Any clues what could be causing this..
Thanks.

I've actually ran into this before with a yamaha sound card, wound up changing the card. Personally i think its a grounding issue somewhere but couldnt solve it. You may try finding different drivers for it.
