Nvidia 7950 GT 512MB dual GPU PCIe card
Posted: Sat Jan 13, 2007 11:52 pmI was blessed with one of these for Christmas from my Boss, what a guy
I ran Mark 3D 06 on my existing 6800 256MB GS card and scored 2400 (rounded off) , right after that i pulled that card and installed the new 7950 512MB dual GPU and scored 4400 (rounded off). Nearly double the performance right out of the box! My 6800 card had a little lag issue with Ghost Recon:Advanced Warfighter with the settings turned up but it runs smooth as silk now with AA and AF maxed out. I wasnt really expecting that big of a difference in a single card config but i must say that im truly impressed. Although i think my boss bought the card out of pity, he's running 2 7900's in SLI and scores right at 7500 on the benchmarks, its still appreciated and definatly a worthy upgrade if you only have 1 PCIe slot.
I must say this though, i downloaded the newest Nvidia drivers and i dont like the new "Nvidia control panel". If anything, it takes away alot of the controls. Its gives you a crappy new interface that just to me doesnt allow as much.
