Hi all. Can someone please tell me if I can do this. I have 2 computers setup right now on a router that uses wires it isnt wireless. My dad bought a laptop that runs off wireless. I dont want to go wireless however. Can I plug his router into my router and then he can just use his wireless whenever he wants too?? Would my router see it as another computer or would it not allow that to happen? Is it possible to run both at the same time? Thanks

That's a bit confusing, but you might want to check out something like this
http://www.smarthome.com/6367g.html

That is able to read wireless connections and can also be used for ethernet connections. I'm sure there are cheaper versions of the same thing, and also more expensive ones, that was just an example. If your current router has an antenna on it, most likely it is able to read wireless connections, you just need a wireless network adapter to set up on the laptop, such as a Linksys Wireless-B or G, depending on your router.

Tank,

There are two ways to go about this and have everything working.
Yes you can connect your Dad’s router to your router but you will have to setup his router to be just a hub.
The setup will have to be done from his laptop and the exact procedure will depend on the router model.

Most wifi routers come with hard wire connections in the back you could just eliminate
your router from the mix and use your Dad’s for everything.
