I have a MSI 7025 motherboard
i have been looking for an upgrade bios/patch so that it accepts higher hard drives. at present its about 137gb i think.
rather than getting an new motherboard as it has room for a better cpu i thought id try and update the bios.
I cant find an update which will make it take higher harddrives, any ideas?
Tried here

Please be aware that there are two models with that number (MS-7025)
model K8N Neo2 Platinum (MS-7025) and model K8N_Neo2-F (MS-7025)
Make sure you have the right one if you try and update your BIOS!
This is not a BIOS issue it is a windows xp issue that was fixed with sp1;

Check to see if your board has the VIA chipset.
I know that the Intel chip set coupled with XP SP1 allows you to see drives bigger than 140 meg on the older boards, and I also know that older VIA chipset boards need a hard drive pci card to get past 140 barrier. From my experience, the Service Pack 1 fix only works for Intel chip sets.

From the desktop, right click on My Computer and select Manage. Go to Disk Managment and select the C drive.
Does XP see the real size of the drive--ie the part you are using and the part that you are missing?
Bear in mind that a 120 gig hard drive will list as about 111gig only because of the way it is counted 1000 vs 1024 per meg
