what to do
Ok, recently in the last few days I noticed, wow, my water isnt flowing very well in my cooling system, being the Thermaltake Bigwater SE. I wasnt getting very high temps without it flowing actually, the copper heatsink absorbed alot, anyways. I wasnt going to bother taking it apart, but then today it wasnt flowing at ALL, and my waterblock was nearly empty, no water in it!! So I take it to the my work table, and I start looking and looking. I used the power supply in the comp to keep testing, so booting up, then turning it off, just to get power to the pump. So one time I was testing it, and then I look, HOLY CRAP, A LEAK A LEAK!! I quickly shut it down and tried to stop the leak with my finger but some coolant landed on my Video Card
It was the return line on the waterblock, going from the waterblock into the rad, then the intake line started to leak as well, very small drips, but still! So I spent the last 4 hours taking my system apart, flushing the system and putting in new coolant I had. I found 4 clogs in the system, can you believe it? It turned out to be rubber type, like white stuff, and it clogged the system in 4 places.
my question is this
This IS a sealed system, is it not?? It is a continuous loop with no exposure to the outside atmosphere, how is dust and stuff getting into it? Why do I think stuff is getting in??
1. It clogged with those gobs of stuff.
2. I compared the old coolant to the new coolant, the old coolant was a VERY dark green, VERY, and the new stuff was extremely light, see through, you know, like a neon green. How could it have gotten so dirty?
Should I just switch back to air?? Thanks!
Any coolers out there for socket 939 that can get under 35 celcius under load??
