I purchased an AMD 3200+ Venice core, Retail box. Question is, with the retail heatsink/fan provided do you still need to apply a Thermal Compound?? Or is the little patch-like surface on the bottom of the Retail AMD heatsink one of those thermal pads(ie: the thermal interface) I've read about? and if so, you dont require thermal grease with a pad correct? Thnx for helping a noob builder

thnx gecko, but does the retail heatsink/fan that comes in the box have a thermal pad on it? is that the little square the size of the processor on the bottom?

(PS: I'm a noob :P )
