External Hard Drive Setup

Postby buzzard » Tue Jul 13, 2004 11:57 pm

I currently have a system running two hard drives (XP and 98SE) as a Dual Boot setup. I want to remove the 98 drive and run it as an external drive by USB. My question is, will I still be able to boot to the external drive and run applications, access the internet etc. or is an external drive simply extended storgage through USB or firewire? If so, what is the best way to do what I'm trying to accomplish? Thanks.

The only difference is the HDD is External, you can still access the drive for applications.
Both OS's should be Formatted NTSF.

in order to boot from a USB drive, you're motherboard would have to support it. Mine has a boot from USB option
