Postby bsxiong » Thu Jul 01, 2004 6:50 pm

HI,

I got my self built computer running now but my problem is that my HDD is appearing as a primary second slave and not a master.

I tried using what they already had, but nothing works. I tried to set it myself but still the same.

On my old hdd, there are lables that you can see easliy, but this Hitachi 60gig, one, there are alot of diffrernt kinds of ways that you can do it. so i don't understand , please hel[p me

it might change based on the model number that you actually have, but I was able to find the jumper layout of a 60 gig hitachi drive... you can try as this page shows you

try putting on the first jumper and no other jumpers or the first and last.

if setting it to master won't work, try putting it to cable select... should automatically work for you.
