problem trying to install game

Hi,
I've been trying to install the Desperate Housewives game.
I put the disc into the drive and the installation window comes up, so I click install.
It shows that it's installing and then after about a minute it comes up with the error message:

Feature transfer error
Feature: Games files
Component: Files
File: E:\Setup\data2.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

It can't be a faulty disk because I tried in on my laptop and it worked fine - installed it all and I managed to play it.

It's not my disc drive is it?

Please could someone help I don't want to go back to WoW :(
Thanks!

This is your substitute for wow? lol

Normally this is just a bad disk but if the disk works on another machine it could be a bad spot on your hard drive. I would check for errors on your hard disk.
Click Start>Computer (or My Computer)
Right click on the Local Disk C: then click properties
Click Tools tab and under error checking click check now
Tick the Scan and attempt recovery button then go to bed for the night

Theres always the chance its the cd drive also but checking the hard drive is the best place to start
