help with dvd drive letter and icon

For two week's now i have been trying to find out y this problem has happend.
i install a new lite-on dvd/cd-rw combo as my slave and added the software to. but for same reason when i click on START-then MY COMPUTER, no driver letter or icon is there but when i go to another user acc, it's there. can you tell me how i can get it in my acc. as my acc is the administrater. running windows xp

Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
In the left side select Storage now in the right side double click on Disk Management.
Does the drive show up?
If not Click on Action Rescan Disks
Does it show now?
