Memory not reporting properly

Postby geekster » Sat Mar 20, 2004 5:01 am

Hi,
I have a IBM Aptiva 350cpu K6 with 64mg ram. I installed 2 new 128mg
SDRAM and it is only showing a total of 64mg of RAM. Is there something I have to change in the BIOS to get the RAM to register properly and if so how do I get the BIOS open as I only get an IBM screen when computer boots up.

thanks,

Geekster

I'd try taking one stick out and boot. Now check your Ram size. Does the computer have 64mb. Ram permanently installed?
To access the Bios:
When you see the IBM logo screen, and memory counting, press the F1 key to enter the configuration utility.
