First, stop deleting things. Definitely dont delete anything from the registry, one wrong move and a bad cd drive will be the least of your problems.

If you know your motherboard info, please post it and we can find the drivers you currently need. If you do not know what motherboard you have, can tell you. Once we get your drivers reinstalled, we can figure out if its a bad drive or not.

You said you see no cdrom in bios, what drives do you see in bios?
