RAM upgrade

Postby Psymon » Mon Dec 11, 2006 8:02 pm

If I had a PC with a stick of RAM running at 533Mhz and I took that out and replaced it with some RAM running at 667Mhz, would I be able to get away with doing just that or would I need to tweak some stuff in the BIOS?

TIA

Hi Psymon,

To answer the question yes you should be able to use the faster ram without incident.
However that does not mean that your new ram will run faster than 533Mhz if that is the max your motherboard can run.
