New Build slow graphics

Postby Iain_Mac » Tue Sep 23, 2003 9:05 pm

I have built a new PC, Athlon 2400+, 2 x 512 DDR 2700 ram, Gigabyte 7VAXP Ultra Motherboard, NVIDIA Geforce 4 Ti 4200 8 x AGP graphics card.
Operating system Windows XP proffesional.
I have tried most BIOS settings, tried running with only one 512 MB memory in one slot, tried another graphics card and hard drive but the graphics are slow. In 2D the screen is fine running high resolutions and refresh rates. When running 3D, even screen savers thr graphics momentarily freeze for a split second every +/- 2 seconds, this is irrespective of screen resolution.
I am pretty sure it is a hardware conflict somewhere on the motherboard or I have somthing not quite set right.
Anyone got any ideas?

Any help greatly appreciated.
