Need to keep it short..

My computer is running really slowly... It takes 5 or more minutesto open any application and it takes an additional five minutes to boot. I have tried defrag... no sucess.

well,I now know not to post my specs on here....Ive got some upgrading to do.Obviously with that kind of system you shouldnt take 5 seconds to open an app muchless 5 minuites.Does this occur on every reboot or on ocassion?Are you receiving any error messages?

Sounds like the problem I had with my AV scanning/conflicting with programs. Try turning off your AV software and see if the problem still exists.

Thanks, I just built it in december so yeah, it shouldnt be taking 5 minutes, this is why it is such a concern.

I am on a network, and what exactly do you mean by "av software"?

I have solved the problem.... located a copy of bootvis and ran that, seems to have fixed the problem.
