Slow keyboard input (Vista)

Postby chris.hogg » Fri Aug 10, 2007 11:32 am

Seeing some strange activity from a client of mine's PC.

He is having a problem where when trying to login to our website (flash based) his input is taking seconds / minuets to show up!

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hello chris.hogg and welcome to our forum.

Keyboard lagging is often a sign of a spyware infection.

Please download HijackThis http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/hijackthis.zip and save it to your desktop.

To extract HijackThis:

1. Right-click your file HijackThis.zip and from the menu select "Extract All".
2. The Extraction Wizard Window will appear, Click "Next".
3. Click Browse and navigate to "C:\" or the "C:\Program Files" and click "Create A New Folder" and call it "HJT" or "HijackThis" or whatever that is easy to remember and then click OK.
4. Click the Extract button.
5. Close the HijackThis.zip dialogue box.

Now double-click on hijackthis.exe and when the window opens, Press the Scan now and save a logfile button and then when it is done, copy and paste the contents of the notepad it opens as a reply to this post.

This only happens on our website though... And has always only happend on our website!

I would normally agree that it is a sign of 'malware' however that is VERY specific behaviour, and I dont think someone will have written something to do this on just our website

(website www.spreadex.com FYI)

Well if it's only the one site then I agree no need to scan with Hijackthis for now.

That site is pretty heavy on flash, does the client have the latest version of flash for their browser?
Have you tried a different browser to access the site with that system like firefox?
