Files stuck as 'read only'.

Postby November Rain » Tue Jul 03, 2007 1:59 pm

After reinstalling XP Pro on my desktop the other day I haven't been able to copy any of my music from my MP3 player to the 'My Music' folder in my docs. I found that the read only box was ticked and whenever I try unchecking it, it just goes back to read only, and the same applies to all of my folders. I've had a quick look on Google but nothing seems to work, what's happening and what can I do to undo this?

You should be able to copy a read only file to your hard drive and then uncheck the read only box. Do you get a permissions error on the copy?

I think that the issue is with your mp3 player not XP here is a link to more info:

The problem you are describing is more like an anti copy policy of the player itself. You can play the song, you just can't transfer it.
