what causes this problem?

I'm trying to install a program named reason onto my pc. when i get to the last part of the install after typing in the auth. code my pc goes to this screen that resembles the "off-air" screen on t.v. from back in the day. You know the one with the colored vertical lines and the constant tone. My pc goes to a screen with alot of vertical colored lines and freezes up. i've restarted and tried to redo and it does the same thing at the same point all the time. this is a store bought program that ive install before so i know it's good.
