network problems?

Postby ansmwke » Wed Aug 16, 2006 4:59 pm

so lately my computer has been sick:(

problem 1:
Windows Firewall/ICS services are turned off and will not start. whn i try to start it it says windows cannot start the device.

problem 2:
i never had this problem til recently... i use wireless internet and i have an excellent connection and it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.

problem 3:
when i try to log into AIM now i hit login and i get "unable to connecT"
and i have to keep trying for like 5-10 times til i can get on

problem 4:
this program "vsmon.exe" is running in the background and when i start windows its at 5k for memory usage, and it keeps crawling to over 120k memory usage. And when itry to do stuff it hogs 90-90% of the computer proccess.

I am in safe mode now, and the only thing that isnt a problem is the "vsmon.exe" problem

heres the hjt log:

I don't really see anything bad in your log.

vsmon.exe is part of the zone alarm firewall and could easily causing all your problems.
I would try turning it off and see if your problem go away.

If you have already uninstalled zone alarm then the vsmon.exe should have been removed also.
I would end task on vsmon.exe and then remove the reference in your hijackthis log and then remove the vsmon.exe file itself.
You will have to reboot to see any changes to you network issue.
