I feel so stupid!!!

Yesterday I installed Office XP Pro on my workstation. Today, being clever, of course, I installed the Office XP Security Patch Suite. Now, my 'Task Mgr' menu is greyed out, the 'Shutdown button has dissppeared from 'Start', and there's no telling what else it's done that I haven't discovered yet. I've done many searches, but can't find any info on how to uninstall, undo or tweak it. Someone, please help me. Thanks[/b]

Can you uninstall or repair Office XP to get rid of the patch?

Right now that's all I can think of. I was hoping to uninstall office, then clean out the registry of unlinked files and programs. However, I wonder if that's not successful, when I re-install Office, willl the security templates still be there. If I only knew where THEY were.

When you reinstall Office the updates and patches won't be there. They have to be installed again.
As for the registry tweak:
To delete "Patches"

1) Regedit
2) Click on registry - export the whole registry.
3) Starting at the top search for "Patches" only in the KEYS.
4) Rename all folder patches found to something else
5) Keep finding patches, but DO NOT rename AppPatches, you need them.
6) When finished, you can install MS Office.
