pop up

Postby robbro » Wed Dec 28, 2005 3:20 am

> this pop up from http://ad.yieldmanager.com/ always keeps comming back even after cleaning with ewido spyware cleaner. I used everything i can think of cleaning temp, using spybot, ewido, spyware blaster and other spyware cleaners. I dunno how it keeps comming back. Ewido cleans it then it appears again.

Kinda annoying but anyone know how to fix it? i run out of idea

You should probably post a HijackThis log.

hey icecube. thanks for that link i had it installed before though . i will download again give it another go see if it detects it.

Its strange because the pop ups happen in Firefox all the time and not IE. So i guessing its a spyware for firefox as i got pop up blocker plugin for firefox that suppose to stop pop up.

But i will see how the microsoft spyware program goes, hopefully it will find something.

Your HJT log looks clean

You said that Ewido cleans it, does it tell you what it is and where on your system it is located?
This could be a root kit you could use to see if that is the case.

In firefox select Tools > Options > Privacy > click the + sign next to cookies
Now click exceptions and add the url for the bad cookie http://ad.yieldmanager.com
Also add http://content.yieldmanager.com/ and click the block button for both.
That should fix it :)
