On your wireless, is it fixed IP addresses? It could be that someone is sharing your wireless connection. When hes's on, you can't get on. Lock down your wireless with encription that might eliminate the problem

no ones sharing my internet. but if i go in safemode, i can go on the internet wirelessly with no problem. when i restart and log on normally, non safe mode, it says im connected and the lil computer wireless icon blinks so it looks like im connected but then i cant do n e thing online. i even tried disabling all the start up items

It sounds like you have some spyware running.
Please download , unzip it to it's own folder.
Start HijackThis and select 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'
Now post the contents of the logfile back into this thread.

i cant open any programs when im not in safe mode. my computer just freezes. so if i do a HJT log in safe mode, it wouldnt help cuz my computer works fine in safe mode, right?

Did you try running HJT anyway? Maybe it'll work. It sounds like you've got something nasty.

You can also try downloading Adaware SE Personal from the link at the top left of this page, and run that in Safe Mode.

Please copy this to Notepad and print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
You should not have any open windows when you are following the procedures below.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS2\regedit /s C:\pav.reg,C:\WINDOWS2\system32\pavdr.exe,C:\WINDOWS2\system32\userinit.exe,

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders, Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your Recycle Bin

Next download to your desktop and run WinsockXPFix.
First, click on the ReG-Backup button. This will backup your registry. This is a just a precaution.
When it is done click Yes. It will run for a about a minute and a beep will sound and you will get the next window about
rebooting system click Ok and let you PC reboot.
When it comes back up you should be able to get on the network.

For detailed instructions on using WinsockFix see this page:
