Windows XP keeps crashing and coming up with the blue screen. It happens when working on the PC or if I walk away for awhile and leave it running.

Below is the following info on the blue screen from 2 instances:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFE9B9DC6, Ox00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804DBDA3)

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
*** STOP: 0x00000050, (0xC382A497, 0x00000000, 0xC382A497, 0x00000000)

Any help would be greatly appreciated..... THANKS!

This could be a driver problem or a virus/trojan according to Microsoft.
The Sdbot virus and the Trojan.Lodmeduod can both cause these types of errors.

Please download , unzip it to it's own folder.
Start HijackThis and select 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'
Now post the contents of the logfile back into this thread

Thanks for the reply Gecko. I run Hijack This quite frequently and it looks clean. I may have missed an entry though. Here is the log file you requested. I have run McAfee virus scan and the Trend Micro online scan and no virus is found.

Your log is clean therefore it must be a driver issue.
The fact that it happens when the system is unattended makes me think it might be video drivers.

Please download
Everest will show you the make and model of you video card, go to the manufacture’s web site and download the latest drivers for your video card and install them.

If you have any question about how to do this post the make and model of you video card and I’ll help you.

Gecko, thanks for the info. I have used Everest before but forgot that I had it installed. My video card is a Sapphire Radeon 9200se Atlantis 128mb.

The current driver is ati2dvag(6.14.10.6517) which was download through Windows Update when it detected hardware updates for my PC about two months ago.
