Is there any way of doing this??

This is not that hard to setup,
Your desktop will need to have two network cards installed
One for the internet, the other for the laptop connection.
A cat 5 cross over cable to connect the laptop with the pc.
Now just setup (internet connection sharing)

Hi Gecko thanks for the quick reply,
Is there no other way of setting this up without buying network cards. i have one already but dont have the cables so i need a new one...(o well)
But there must be some other way. ive tried installing the modem onto my laptop but it wont have it. i then tried connecting my modem straight to my laptop (USB) as well as my pc (ethernet) but still no luck. i cant connect to the internet to download the files straight to the laptop...any more ideas would be appreciated, complicity isnt a problem as long as the jobs done.
Thanks in advanced, Tronic
