If there are multipal users on an xp machine do you have to run run spybot/adaware on each account, or can you login as an admin & it should scan all of the users registry?

the reason im asking is.. i worked on a machine that had multipal user & everytime i ran spybot/adaware it would find things on each account, after i originally ran it on the admin account.

just cuirous.

thanks

When Ad-aware or Spy-bot run they are looking for known file names and types.
They (Ad-aware or Spy-bot), in fact all spyware removers, cannot find randomly named *.dll files
that are so often used now in the nastier spyware / malware that is out there now.
Most of these spyware / malware programs are activated through the registry for the current user.
When an Administrator log in to windows, the registry loads his/hers current user profile.
If the randomly named *.dll files is not called from the registry then the spyware is not started.

So to answer your question, yes you have to run Ad-aware / Spy-bot for each user.
