right click cause IE to shutdown

Postby bsxiong » Sat Feb 26, 2005 6:56 pm

hi all,

I have a friends computer here and what is wrong with his computer is that whenever he right click on anywhere, the Explorer just shuts down.

when your right click, everything including the taskbar and menu bar just dissapare and everything that is running too. Then after a couple of seconds, it will reload back to desktop.

is this a cause of a virus or spyware or something. They do have broadband connection.

Though about formating the HDD but i want to consult you guys first. Thanks

I would try downloading HijackThis, the link can be found at the top left of this forum.
Unzip it into it's own folder like this c:\HJT\hijackthis.exe.
Run a scan and post the log back here.
