Can Someone help me with spyware?

Last week I was hammered with spyware. I typed the name of the site I wanted wrong in the address bar and BAM I was hit with a ton of crap. Funny thing is I didn't even click anything. Well my problem is this. I finally cleaned a majority of the spyware out (I still think there is stuff linked to my internet explorer). While cleaning I think I screwed some stuff up.

I open command prompt and go to type the DOS app that I run (DBASE) and I get this error:
The System Cannot Execute The Specified Program.
I know the path is correct (Or else I would get a diff error). This isn't the only program that does this. I have tried a few others as well. Would anyone know a fix for this?

Also would anyone know how to fix the IE. I still think that there is something that is messing with it.

Hello Kalypso.

You should download and run Adaware (after updating it first). You can find a link on the top left of this page under "helpful weblinks"

After you scan, you should also download HijackThis from here www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html
Run it and post a log, so we can see if anything needs to be cleaned up.

I ran Adaware and it removed a ton of things. Then I ran the other app. Here is the log.

Patience is Key my friend..

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

wdjotel.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.yahoo.com/
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 172.16.193.10:8080
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = http://172.16.215.30;<local>
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [lsqfbwg] c:\winnt\wdjotel.exe
O4 - Startup: maph.bat
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.skoobidoo.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.slotchbar.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.windupdates.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.skoobidoo.com (HKLM)
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.slotchbar.com (HKLM)

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

c:\winnt\wdjotel.exe

I couldnt find any information on maph.bat which is a good sign to find and remove it.

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders , Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

regsvc.exe is shown in your processes, which concerns me. This is a service that allows access to the Windows registry from remote computers.

Ok. I removed everything you asked me to. I do have to go through a proxy server in order to access the internet so I set that up again. And the maph.bat is a batch file that I use to setup my network drives. So that is not a problem. Here is the latest log file:

I still can not run the dbase DOS app from the command prompt :(. The message I get is:

I am unsure of what to do in order to fix this. I really need to use this app though.

Thanks again.

And this DBase app used to work? Why haven't you put SP4 on yet?

Yes Dbase used to work and I have not done SP4 yet because I just have not gotten around to it yet.

I would try doing your windows updates just in case it helps fix this issue. It's a better option the reloading the OS.
