Ok now my PC is messed up :(

Postby mithril » Tue Nov 30, 2004 5:57 am

First let me thank you guys for helping me fix my friends PC. Unfortunately I need to ask help again, seems now mine is messed up. Computer just started shutting down on me all by itself...and wouldnt reboot. I did manage to get in with safe mode, cleaned up a little (not much) and was able to get on in regular mode and unselect everything in my startup menu in msconfig (everything was unselected not too long ago, where did everything on the list come from??) Anyway so here is my HJT logfile, any help would be appreciated, I definately picked something up.

Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following:

C:\WINDOWS\runservice.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P2P Networking] C:\WINDOWS\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe /AUTOSTART
O16 - DPF: {1D6711C8-7154-40BB-8380-3DEA45B69CBF} (Web P2P Installer) -
O16 - DPF: {1E2941E3-8E63-11D4-9D5A-00902742D6E0} (iNotes Class) - https://myln2.imclone.com/iNotes.cab
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/113d0eff45b ... xIE601.cab

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" and rename them, in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\runservice.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

Will try those fixes tonight. Also after scanning the boards for a while saw some references to hardware problems, ie heat especially. So I took apart the case and the heat sink on my mother board was massively hot, and choked with dust bad. I cleaned it up and its been off for 16 hours by the time I get home tonight...hopefully Ill be able to mae your HJT fixes and check system. Ill try and post results tonight if I can keep the computer on long enough. Thank you.
