Trouble Sharing Files & Folders

Postby Geekgirl » Thu Oct 07, 2004 10:51 pm

I'm wanting to drag and drop some favorites from 1 pc to another. Both machines are running Xp connected via network. I can see everything from both machines through the network. Both h.d.d are shared along with the folders and subfolders wanting to share. When I try to drag and drop I get access denied error. I am signed in as Admin in both machines.

What am I missing or what settings may need changed?

*Added info
I also have a 98 machine in this network. I can transfer from XP to 98 but cannot transfer from XP to XP or 98 to Xp . Did that make sense?

You should be able to COPY the favs folder from 1 pc and Paste it in the NEW pc (Paste it here:C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Favorites)
Should work.
It might show up as a Sub-Folder in the new Favs folder.

I should of worded it differently, I am trying to copy and paste these files.
I did get them over via floppy but I'm not happy, that was the easy way out.
I'm going to lose my hair over this if I don't figure it out :|

Why wont these XP machines copy and paste through the network.
