Download / Install / and Update: . Now Run it and post a copy of the Log File here.
**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:[/b]

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the following if they are there:

MyWay

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" and rename them, in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\Program Files\MyWay

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

Ok Brad I've done as far as deleting the Myway directory from Program Files, there din't seem to be anything to delete in the Control Panel->Add/Remove bit. I want to check with you which temporary directory I should be getting rid of files from, remembering that I'm using 2000 not XP, the files I can see aren't very descriptively named so I'm cautious about deleting anything.

Hey Joe_90

Windows will gladly erase your temp files if you just know how to ask.

Windows and windows-based programs are famous for leaving temporary files littered all over the hard drive. Here's how to remove these suckers:

1. Open My Computer
2. Right click on your hard drive that you wish to clean (C drive, for example)
3. In the context menu that opens, select properties
4. Under the general tab you should select Disk Cleanup
5. Windows will scan your drive which will take a few seconds/minutes
6. A box will display the various files you can remove. Here are some safe examples:

Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files

7. Click OK and windows will comply.

Enjoy the extra space you have created on your drive. If you have more than one hard drive, do not forget to repeat this process for each one.

Well Joe_90 the first thing I would do is disable the P2P network.
The ALLPoints manager is a Kazza fav as well...
My personal view..

How's it running?

Well at the moment I've only been connecting with the ISP that doesn't give me any grief but if you reckon it should be more stable now I'll start using the other one.

Connect to your ISP & then open a command prompt & type:
ipconfig /all

And paste the results into here. Then do the same when you are connected to the working ISP, and paste them in here to so we can compare them.

Also, see if you can ping websites by name and ip address (if you want to try here, our ip address is 67.19.6.2)

Well here's the latest. For a short time I had the web pages working. I think this was because I copied a web page from my working PC which has some Explorer settings attached to it that reset Explorer on my problem PC. However when I connected to my dodgy ISP after a short time the pages stopped working, it would appear since I've done all the stuff with Hijackthis that instead of my PC locking up the web pages are refusing to download instead which at least is an improvement I suppose. Does this make sense and what needs to be done now ? I tried the pinging with the command prompt and I get a response from the ISP site but not from this site when I used Explorer.
