Well you got the adware so thats a start. Also grab Spybot (What one app wont find, the other will).

You might also set your browser security to high. If you're using Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options and slide it to High.

I would recommend grabbing a popup blocker as well. See Google Toolbar: http://toolbar.google.com/

Ultimately regular scans of your machine with the above too apps is your best bet.

Hello,
Some suggestions to you:
Always keep your anti-virus definitions up-to-date...........if your using Norton, use every month...hehe

And please visit often

If your using Windows Xp you can set some restrictions on the other users. All you have to do is not give them permissions to anything. I have it set so my son can't d/l anything, he gets an error or it just won't install.

What O.S. are you using?

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is same in XP Pro as Home but try this.
Start>Settings>Control Panel>User Account
Open user account, click on a user name, then change the account type to limited. This should help.
Good luck

You could also try spywareblaster (just google for the homepage). This will change some default settings to protect you in advance from some spyware. You will have to update it & re-run it every so often as they update it to protect against newer spywares, but it should help :)
