Can you run windows restore from a boot disk?

All versions of Windows 7, 2008 and Vista including 32 bit and 64 bit

Can you run windows restore from a boot disk?

This is just something I wondered - is there a way to run the windows restore proggy (to restore to a previous point) from a command prompt? (eg the recovery console, or a DOS bootdisk if you used FAT32)?

Yes you can but it's a lot of work I know because I had to do this once and I wrote an article all about it with step by step instructions. You can find the article

That's a thorough article, thanks :)

I haven't had a detailed read, but one comment - in your copy command a lot of the lines appear to have lost characters (especially backslashes) so they don't make sense :)
