I happened to obtain a copy of XP Service Pack 2 (Beta) today. I installed it on my system and all seems to be running well. It took approx one hour and 20 minutes to install. I just finished doing the updates for the pack and the firewall seems to have been upgraded. It seems there are a few added features to the pack. Should be interesting to see what all goes on.Daniel

post scipt. There is a new section added or a section I havent seen before. In Control Panel there is an icon called Security Center. If you open it it tells you if your firewall is up, it tells you if your Automatic Updates is on or off and it tells you if your Antivirus is on or off, who it is and if it is completely up to date. Nice feature. Here is a screen shot of whats new in the service pack.

I've heard a lot of horror stories with SP2 being very unstable, and not wanting to properly uninstall... of course microsoft's beta software is normally extremely bad... getting to the point of just bad by the time it's actually released.

I know beta's are known to create problems. This is the second pc we have installed SP2 on and there seems to be no problem at all so far. Actually it seems to have added a little speed to my system. I also noticed that some pop ups that were not being seen by my spyware programs are not showing up any more. I have spent most of the morning testing various areas of SP2 and to be honest Im quite happy with the results. It seems SP2 has made my system a little more secure and to me the more secure the better. Stay tuned for further updates. Daniel

Wait about 20 more days, the real (full) SP2 will be out (as per the MS OEM builders site.)
