game and pc problems

Postby defaye » Wed Jun 09, 2004 9:07 pm

Hi everyone,

Any Tekheads that are here, I need your help.
I have windows XP SP1

When I play "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault" or "MOHAA" my PC Crashes and comes up with the typical had to close; Send details Don't Send.

The thing is I have been playing this game for 2 years. And I made my new PC about 3 months ago; with this card that was originally running it.

My graphics card is an ATI Radeon Sapphire 9600 Atlantis

I upgraded to an ASUS 9600XT, it played MoHAA but after a while it came up with strange problems, and MoHAA was able to be played for a while then suddenly crash, and not only that but my whole system would turn off instantly, and my PC would restart.

I installed my old card (Atlantis), because I believe my Mobo - a PCCHIPS one that probably isn't good enough for the Card, may have been the problem.

I re-installed Mohaa, and back to square one, because now the game doesn't allow me to load any map. Just crashes to desktop.

I have tried reinstalling all my Graphics card drivers.
I have reset my CMOS settings on the mobo.

I have re-done the Mobo settings to suit the card.
I have reinstalled MoHAA and made sure it was configured for the card.

I do not understand, Why my pc isn't working..

My specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2700+ @ 2.17GHz
512 MB of 400MHz DDR RAM
ATI Sapphire Atlantis 9600
80 GB Hard drive
Windows XP SP1
PCCHIPS Motherboard Socket A M848A(V2.1)

I know its a long shot for anybody to guess....
but somehow, someone might know something.

So advise me please!
Does anyone advise a complete Disk Formatting?

Thx, def

PS: to add to the record of random instant pc cut outs, i wasnt playing any games at all, and my pc turned off. something is wrong, please help.

Make sure you have the latest software avaliable for everything. This includes drivers, windows updates, direct x and any mohaa updates/patches you can get.

should work on your card.

Update what you can if you havent already done so and let us know the result.

Soft ware bugs

I just typed into google "Mohaa crashes" and got a few hits of the same type of problem. There are some system hardware issues --the video card and the os might not like to push the envelope to the limits some programs want. Check out the newsgroups for your games
