Hey, this morning i came on to the PCTechForum as normal, some hours later, when i opened it again, it did not recognize me and i had to login again. How does this come? Never had this before.
And I did not flush the cookies or internet temp files; so...?

thanks

Cookies expire. So every now and then this may happen.

What do you mean with "Cookies expire"? They do not change on my machine, do they? Then what is happening? I really do not understand.

Inside a cookie is a date and time. It also has an expiration time. So after that length of time, they become no good. They don't dissappear, they just become useless. So when you revisit the site, it prompts you to log in and gets a new cookie overwriting the old.

Make sense?

Now at least I know what is happening

You don't think it has something to do with PCGuy enabling the security code do you?

I thought I would report back about a program I found that does exactly what I wanted to do. It is called IECookiesView.

IECookiesView is a small and handy utility, that displays the details of all cookies that Internet Explorer stores on your computer. In addition, it allows you to sort the cookies, delete selected ones, view detailed information about each one and even save the cookies to a readable text file. If you are connected to a network, you can watch the cookies of other computers, as long as you have a read permission on the cookies folder and under Windows 2000, you can view the cookies of other users (admin rights). IECookiesView also allows you to view references to deleted cookies, that are still stored in the index.dat file. A very nice and functional cookie viewer.

I have only used the edit function to change the expiration date which worked great so I don't know how the remainder of the program works. You can download the program from the below link:
